The unspoken rule…

Things to keep in mind…

Discipline plays a much larger role in Chess than anyone leads you to believe. It singlehandedly causes major tilt, and can obstruct your natural development as a Chess player if not managed correctly.

Let's watch this quick video before taking some notes on how to stay disciplined whilst playing Chess.

When we play Chess, we want to keep these important things in mind.

  • Don't play more than 5-10 long games per day

  • Don't play if you've had a stressful day

  • Don't play serious games at obscure times of the day

  • Don't play in uncomfortable settings (on the train, etc.)

  • Warm up before games with puzzles

  • Stay studying, and learning in between games

  • Review ALL your games and learn from your mistakes

  • Don't go for cheap tricks or traps

If we can keep all of these things in mind, our game should be well-disciplined and we won't be susceptible to tilt.
